Omaha, Nebraska, December 27, 1999 — Warren E. Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and Susan T. Buffett, announced today that they have donated 2,500 shares of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Class A Common Stock to four charitable organizations.

Mr. and Mrs. Buffett are making this announcement because there have been occasions when gifts by them have been reported in the media as sales. Mr. and Mrs. Buffett have never sold any Berkshire shares.

The recipient organizations have agreed not to sell more than 10 shares during any one-week period.
