Berkshire Hathaway Inc. News Release

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Warren Buffett today made gifts of 572,375 shares of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) Class B stock to five foundations pursuant to the terms of lifetime pledges made on June 26, 2006.

Each year during Mr. Buffett’s lifetime the number of shares given to each foundation decreases by 5%. Based on Friday’s close, the market value of the shares given this year totaled $2.12 billion, somewhat greater than the dollar value last year because Berkshire B shares have appreciated by more than 5% since then.

Mr. Buffett does not participate in the investment decisions of any of the five foundations.
